Packet Skeptic is operated by a private individual based in Poland. For privacy inquiries, contact contact@packetskeptic.com.

Information we process

  • Technical requests: Web server logs may contain IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, and browser information.
  • Article feedback: We store the associated article, feedback type, optional reason or message, and submission time. Names and email addresses are not requested by the article feedback tool.
  • Email correspondence: When you contact us, your email address and the information you send are processed to handle your inquiry.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page visits, traffic sources, and website performance. According to Cloudflare, this service does not use cookies or browser storage to track visitors.

Purposes and legal bases

We process information to operate and secure the website, understand its performance, review editorial feedback, and respond to inquiries. Where personal data is involved, these activities generally rely on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, subject to applicable rights and balancing requirements. Processing may also be necessary to comply with legal obligations.

Service providers

Our technical infrastructure uses Contabo for hosting, Cloudflare for website analytics, and Namecheap for domain services and email forwarding. Incoming correspondence is delivered to a Google-hosted mailbox. These providers may process information as part of delivering their services. Processing locations and applicable international transfer safeguards depend on the provider and service configuration.

Cookies and external content

Cloudflare Web Analytics does not require tracking cookies. Essential authentication cookies may be used for administrative access. Articles may also contain externally hosted media; loading such content can involve requests to the external provider.

Data retention

Article feedback currently remains in our database until manually removed. Correspondence is retained as needed to handle inquiries and related obligations. Technical logs are subject to the server's operational logging and rotation configuration. Retention practices may be revised as the publication develops.

Your rights

Where GDPR applies, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, or restrict processing of personal data, as well as to object to processing and request data portability where applicable. You may contact us to exercise these rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, including Poland's Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

Policy updates

This policy may be updated when the website's functionality, service providers, or data practices change. The revision date will be shown above.
